Brad Wieck Kicks Off 2009 Season Written By: Brad Wieck Racing (April 27th, 2009) – The B&B Motorsport team placed the finishing touches on the car Saturday afternoon and with only the number on the rear quarter panel decided to start the 2009 racing season with a trip to the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Drawing a 53 placed the BB1 in the third position of the start of the third heat race. Brad had a very good start and was leading coming out of turn 2 for the final time and won the first heat race of the year. This wasn’t bad considering the car just wasn’t right. This gave us a great starting spot of third in the “A” Main.
Jeff Harris would start on the pole and Joey Kramer took outside front row. Harris, Brad and Rick Bingham did their best to get around Kramer at the start, but Kramer got a great run out of turn four and lead lap one. Unfortunately for the rest of the field, the race was on for second. Joey Kramer had no trouble leading all 20 laps. The battle was a good one from second on back. Following Kramer across the line was JD Largent, Brad Wieck, Jeff Harris, and Rick Corbin. Considering it was the first time out and the car just wasn’t right, not a bad night for the BB1. At this time we are not sure where we will be running this coming Saturday.
