Brad Wieck Returns to Lawrenceburg Speedway and Claims Victory

Written By: BB1 Team

(July 13th, 2009) – The B&B Motorsports team decided to venture to Lawrenceburg Speedway instead of Moler Raceway Park. The Mods were part of the Indiana Sprint Week. Brad drew pill number 21 which placed him fourth row outside in heat race number One. Brad got of to a rough start because some of the cars were a little out of shap. When a caution came out with three laps to go, Brad made the heat race extremely exciting by pulling along side the first place car of Derek Groomer on the white flap lap coming off turn two and made the pass for first going into turn three to win the first heat.

It has been quite some time since Brad has been in Victory Lane at The Burg. In fact, Brad hasn’t won at the Burg since it has been reconfigured. 37 Budweiser UMP modifieds were attempting to make the 20 car 20-lap feature.  Brad started on the pole of the 20-lap feature alongside Joey Kramer, who is always strong at Lawrenceburg. When the green flag dropped Brad was able to secure the lead but Kramer was right there ready to pounce. Kramer tried lap after lap to pull alongside of Brad but Brad was always able to shut the door coming off the corner. Kramer would mount another charge near the end of the race, but Brad was able to hold him off and win the race by half a straightaway.  Kramer finished second followed by Bill Wagner, Rick Hensley, and JD Largent. Heat race winners were Brad Wieck, Joey Kramer, Daryl Herbert, and JD Francis.
